As the Strategic Director - Local Services I have been impressed by the clarity of vision and the co-ordinated approach across the City Council to make Devolution and Localisation a reality.

This is not the “latest idea”, it has been two years in the development and planning before we went live in April 2004; neither is it a short term fix and success will come as we develop relationships with communities and partner organisations.

The District Directors posts provide a unique challenge, working with partners, putting the customer first, listening to the community and shaping our services to match their aspirations.

These positions are at the heart of delivering the Councils priorities of Developing Strong Communities and Improving Service Performance.
