The perfect place to live and work

Set amid stunning countryside between the West Pennine Moors and the Lancashire Plain, Chorley has been a major market and trading centre since mediaeval times.

The Borough's population of 104,000 occupies some 80 square miles and enjoys quality of life 20% better than the UK average (according to independent research). Indeed, Chorley is ranked among the top fifteen districts in which to live in the North of England, benefiting from low unemployment, high owner occupancy, above average academic achievement and surprisingly reasonable property prices.

Leisure facilities are comprehensive, with no fewer than four leisure centres and four golf courses, plus numerous parks and open spaces. Other attractions include the Leeds and Liverpool canal, the historic fortified hilltop mansion of Hoghton Tower and Camelot Tower, combining Arthurian jousting tournaments with white knuckle rides.

The town offers a wide array of shopping amenities, from a broad selection of high street names in the Market Walk complex to the weekly Flat Iron market - one of the best open-air markets in the North West, with a history stretching back to the late fifteenth century. All the shopping and leisure facilities of Manchester (including a busy international airport) are easily accessible, and 125mph trains into Central London run from both Manchester and Preston.

Chorley thus combines the very best of urban and rural living, with an enviable location at the very heart of the North West and competitively priced housing to suit every taste.
