Welcome to HfL

Dear Candidate

Welcome to the recruitment site for Healthcare for London .  I hope you will take the time to find out more about some exciting opportunities to support the NHS in London  as it delivers real improvements in the health and healthcare of Londoners.

The Healthcare for London  Programme was established in August 2007 to lead the implementation of Lord Darzi's review of healthcare across  London .  H ealthcare for London   reports to the London Commissioning Group through the Programme Director and is a partnership between the 31 PCTs in London and NHS London.  A variety of projects have been established to take forward the recommendations made by Lord Darzi and it is anticipated that more projects will be initiated in due course.

We have a variety of roles on offer – some in the central programme office where the  main  responsibilities are to ensure that the programme and its projects run effectively and efficiently and that  key links  and interdependencies are well managed.  The programme office must also ensure good governance and   the strategic   development of the programme.

We also need individuals to work on projects that will be focussed on a particular issue such as a long term condition or maternity care.  The project teams need Project Managers who will be accountable to the Programme Director and the Project Senior Responsible Officer (always a PCT CE) and Project Officers at a variety of levels.

Whilst we are keen to encourage secondments from the public sector into these roles, if you are someone for whom a different contract route might be more appropriate, please apply and we will consider options in the process as applicable.

It is intended to hold interviews on 30 th April and 1 st May 2008 .

If after you have read all this information carefully, you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Lesley Perkin , Programme Manager   (0207 932 2602)  or Mandi Sehmi, HR Business Partner (0207 932 3947)  and they will be happy to help.

I look forward to receiving your application.

David Sissling
Programme Director
